Terms of Service
The terms on which this website and its research demonstrations are made available.
Last updated:
This page is published in several languages. Where the versions differ, the English text is the authoritative one.
1. Who provides this website
This website is provided by Cornerstone Research International Ltd ("CRIL"), a company registered in Ireland under number 386943, based at NovaUCD, Belfield Innovation Park, University College Dublin, Dublin 4, Ireland. BlockEnergy ACR is the name of the research programme CRIL runs with University College Dublin, Ireland, and Zhengzhou University, People's Republic of China.
By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
2. What this website is, and what it is not
This website describes a research programme and lets visitors see a prototype reasoning system work on invented cases. It exists for research, education and demonstration.
It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or make clinical decisions, it is not certified under any medical device regulation, and nothing on it is medical advice.
Using this site creates no doctor-patient relationship and no professional relationship of any kind. A qualified clinician remains responsible for every clinical decision.
3. The demonstration pages
The demonstration pages accept invented case values so that a visitor can watch the reasoning run. The stored demonstration records are synthetic throughout: they describe no real person.
Never enter real patient data, or any information that could identify a real person, on any page of this website.
What you enter on a demonstration page is held in your own browser so that it survives a page reload. We may change, reset or withdraw the demonstration data and the demonstration pages at any time.
4. Restricted areas and invited access
Parts of this site, the research platform and the ACR Companion mobile application are open only to people we invite. Sign-in details and invitation codes are personal to the person we issue them to and must not be shared or passed on. We may withdraw access at any time, and access ends when the evaluation ends.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the site for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of any data protection law;
- upload real personal or patient data, malware, or unlawful material;
- attempt to gain access to any restricted area, account or system you have not been given;
- harvest data from the site by automated means, or place an unreasonable load on it;
- copy, resell or redistribute the content, the ontology or the software, except as section 6 allows.
6. Intellectual property
The content of this website, the ACR ontology and rule set, and the software behind them belong to CRIL and its research partners, unless stated otherwise. You may read the site and print or download extracts for your own non-commercial research or teaching, provided you keep every notice of authorship intact. No other licence is granted.
The University College Dublin and Zhengzhou University names and logos belong to those institutions and are used with their agreement. Open-source components remain under their own licences.
7. Links to other websites
Where we link to another organisation's website, we do so for information only. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
8. Availability and liability
This is a research site. It is provided as it stands, without any warranty that it will be available, uninterrupted, complete or free of error, and we may change or withdraw any part of it without notice.
To the fullest extent the law allows, CRIL is not liable for any loss arising from use of this website or reliance on anything published on it, including any clinical, financial or research decision. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9. Personal data
How we handle personal data is set out separately in our Privacy Policy.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
11. Changes and contact
We may revise these terms. Any revision is published on this page with a new date at the top, and applies from the moment it is published.
